About us
Small jobs, taken seriously
Level Best is a small, local handyman company in Boise, Idaho: a finish carpenter and his crew, a tidy van and a simple promise to show up when we say we will.
Registered Idaho contractor · Fully insured
Our story
Marcus started Level Best in 2016 after twelve years of finish carpentry on new homes. The work was good, but the calls he enjoyed most came from neighbors: a door that wouldn’t close, a shelf that needed hanging, a list that had been on the fridge for a year.
Bigger contractors didn’t want those jobs. So he bought a van, wrote his hourly rate on the side of it and started saying yes to the small stuff.
Ten years on, we’re a crew of three. We still take the one-hour jobs, we still clean up before we leave and Marcus still answers the phone.

How we work
We show up
A two-hour window, a text when we’re on the way and a call if anything changes.
We leave it clean
Drop cloths down, dust vacuumed and the packaging gone before we go.
We say what we see
If a job needs a specialist, or isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight.
Our promise
- An estimate before you book and a heads-up before any extra time
- A two-hour arrival window, and a text on the way
- Shoes off or covered, and the work area left clean
- Our workmanship guaranteed for 12 months

I had a list of eleven things that had been bugging me for two years. Marcus did all of them in one morning and left the house cleaner than he found it.

Showed up exactly when he said, mounted two TVs and fixed a door that hadn’t closed since we moved in. The estimate on the website was within ten dollars.

He told me honestly that one of my jobs needed an electrician and gave me a name. That’s why I’ll keep calling him for everything else.
