Tess Moreno

Meet the owner

Hi, I’m Tess

I started Clover & Scoop in 2019 with one pickup truck, a rake, a scooper and my own two dogs as quality control. I was tired of spending Saturdays scooping, and so were my neighbors. Today our small crew looks after yards all over Cary, and I still do the first visit at every new home myself.

A clean yard means more time playing fetch and less time watching where you step.

  • With three big dogs our yard was a minefield. Now the kids play outside again, and the photo of the closed gate every Tuesday is the best text I get all week.

  • We booked a clean-up after a long, wet winter. Two hours later the yard looked brand new, and they started weekly visits the very next week.

  • Friendly, on time and they never leave the gate open. My escape-artist beagle has been foiled every single week.

  • Our HOA’s pet stations used to overflow. Now they’re always stocked, and the board gets a log of every visit.

Good questions

Before your first scoop

Do I need to be home?

No. Most clients are at work. Leave the gate unlocked or share the code, and tell us about any dogs who will be outside while we scoop.

What do you do with the poop?

We double-bag it and take it with us. If you’d rather, we can tie it into your outdoor bin on trash day.

Is it safe to leave my dog out while you work?

Usually, yes. We love dogs and carry treats (with your OK). If your dog is nervous with strangers, keep them inside during our visit.

How do you stop germs going from yard to yard?

We spray our boots and tools with a kennel-grade, pet-safe disinfectant before every yard, so nothing travels from one home to the next.

How do I pay, and is there a contract?

We charge the card on file once a month for regular plans. There’s no contract: pause or cancel any time with a text.

What if it rains or snows?

We scoop in light rain. In storms, lightning or snow we move your visit to the next good day and let you know.
