Project brief

The goal

Give a Dutch travel and documentary photographer a portfolio where the photographs lead. A visitor should be able to read a story, see the whole series and reach her about an assignment without leaving the site.

What it is

A Squarespace portfolio for a travel and documentary photographer, built around six photo stories. Each story has its own page with a written narrative and a masonry gallery, plus a contact page with her bio and an enquiry form.

Built for

Photography portfolio · Travel and documentary work · Assignment enquiries

SEO

Every story sits on its own descriptive URL with a unique page title and canonical tag, all listed in the sitemap, and gallery images lazy load from the Squarespace image CDN.

What we built

  • A full-screen slideshow on the home page, then two featured stories with view links
  • A Work page indexing six photo stories, each on its own page
  • Every story page pairs a written narrative with a masonry gallery
  • A location line under each story title, like Sumba, Indonesia and Hiroshima, Japan
  • A contact page with her bio and a name, email and message form
  • Instagram linked in the footer of every page
